Orthodontic Insurance and Financing Options

A great smile should fit your family’s budget. At Michael King Orthodontics, we make costs clear before anything starts, help you get the most from your insurance, and offer flexible ways to pay. Families from Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, Chaska, Victoria, Excelsior, Minnetonka, Waconia, and Shakopee appreciate knowing exactly what to expect.

Is the first visit free?

Yes. Your exam, consultation, and x-ray are complimentary. You’ll meet Dr. King, learn whether treatment is recommended, and get a clear picture of the plan and cost, with no pressure to start the same day.

Do you accept orthodontic insurance?

Yes. We work with orthodontic insurance and will review your benefits with you at your first visit. Orthodontic coverage often applies to braces, clear aligners, and early treatment alike.

We file your insurance claims for you

You don’t have to deal with the paperwork. We file orthodontic insurance claims on your behalf and help you understand what your plan covers.

How to check your benefits

When you schedule, have your insurance information handy. We’ll help you check your benefits so you know what your plan is likely to cover before treatment begins.

What payment options do you offer?

  • In-house, interest-free financing: spread the cost of treatment over time with a payment plan through our office, with no interest.

  • Pay-in-full discount: if you prefer to pay for treatment up front, we offer a discount.

  • HSA and FSA: we accept Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account funds.

How much do braces or aligners cost?

Every treatment plan is different, so cost depends on your bite, the type of treatment, and how long it will take. Most full treatments at our practice take about 14 to 18 months. At your complimentary visit, we’ll review the orthodontic process, financial options, and any applicable insurance coverage in detail. No treatment begins until the cost is clear.

What will I know before treatment starts?

Before anything begins, we’ll go over the details with you in plain language, so there are no surprises:

  • The treatment Dr. King recommends and why

  • How long treatment is expected to take

  • The total cost of treatment

  • What your orthodontic insurance is likely to cover

  • The payment option that works best for you

Treatment is an investment in your health and confidence, and choosing a board-certified orthodontist helps make sure that investment is well spent. Dr. King is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and orthodontics is all he does.

What if I don’t have orthodontic insurance?

You can still get great care. Many families without coverage use our in-house, interest-free financing, the pay-in-full discount, or HSA and FSA funds. We’ll walk through every option with you.
